Shrewsbury Buttermarket concert for former X Factor winner Shayne Ward

Former X Factor winner and Dancing on Ice star Shayne Ward is to perform a gig in Shropshire.

The 28-year-old singer, who is currently appearing on the ITV celebrity skating show, will play at Shrewsbury's Buttermarket nightclub on March 23.

He rose to fame after winning the second series of X Factor in 2005 and went on to score a number one hit with That's My Goal. The singer is due to meet fans at the club on Howard Street following his performance.

Tickets are due to go on sale at 9am tomorrow. Buttermarket owner Martin Monahan, said: "We're expecting a huge demand for tickets."

The singer, who had hits such as When The Going Gets Tough and Love Really Hurts Without You, will play at the nightclub on May 5 as part of a national tour. Tickets for the concert went on sale today at 9am.

Earlier this week tickets to see boyband JLS perform a DJ set in April sold out in 15 minutes online.

A limited number of paper tickets will go sale at the club on Howard Street at 11am on Saturday.

Meanwhile X Factor singer Lucy Spraggan will become the latest in a long line of contestants from last year's ITV talent show to perform at the club next month.

The singer will take to the stage at the Howard Street club on February 23.
