The 20-year-old singer starred at the Buttermarket nightclub in Shrewsbury yesterday as part of his nationwide tour.

The crowd flocked to the venue despite heavy snowfall falling throughout the evening and was in buoyant mood after the star had earlier tweeted that he was on the way to Shrewsbury after a 'mental' gig on Thursday night in Manchester.

He came on stage from 8pm and performed a number of songs before meeting some of his fans in the VIP area.

Martin Monahan, owner of The Buttermarket said: "It was fantastic to see so many people brave the cold weather and turn out to see Frankie and his band perform, and it was great that he also chose to meet so many of his fans as well – he was definitely a big hit."

Cocozza's fans were delighted, with many taking to twitter to voice their approval including Deane Michael who labelled it 'the best night of my life'.

Lucy Perks added: "I just want to say to Frankie Cocozza that I had a really good night and loved every minute of it thank you for coming to Shrewsbury!"

Cocozza caused a series of controversies on the X Factor after revealing that the names of some of his many lovers were tattooed on his bottom.

He got booted off the show when his behaviour overstepped the mark and he broke competition rules.

But his popularity has continued to grow and he went on to be last year's runner-up in Celebrity Big Brother.
