The Northern Irish group, best known for their number one anthem Things Can Only Get Better, will appear at The Big 90s Night Out Summer Beach Party on July 19 at Shrewsbury's Buttermarket nightclub.

But famous physicist Brian Cox – the band's keyboard player for several years – will not join former bandmates Al Mackenzie and Peter Cunnah for the Shrewsbury gig.

Organisers were forced to bring forward the date of the show following huge demand for the first Big 90s Night Out, which was held in April.

Tickets for the event – which featured a performance by dance group N-Trance – sold out weeks in advance and saw more than 1,000 revellers descending on the Howard Street club.

The night also boosted business across Shrewsbury with other venues reporting a noticeable increase in trade.

Organisers are predicting another sellout – with more than 500 tickets already snapped up.

DJ Rob Mulliner said: "We were overwhelmed with the response to the first Big 90s Night Out."

Tickets are priced at £10 and can be bought from www.big90snight.com or The Peach Tree restaurant in Abbey Foregate.
