Sister Bliss will perform a DJ set featuring the band's hits at Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival.

About 100 acts have been lined up to play at the three-day music, comedy and art event, which is set to return to the West Mid Showground in Berwick Road for the third year running from September 13 to 15.

Sister Bliss, who as part of Faithless has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, will top the bill in the dance tent on the Friday.

On the Saturday indie rockers Maximo Park and The 1975 will take to the main stage before the event is brought to a close on Sunday with a comedy festival.

Festival director Dene Edwards said: "It is an honour to have an artist of the calibre of Sister Bliss at the opening night of the festival.

"She has an impressive CV, having appeared at the most popular clubs worldwide, and released her own records by the time she met fellow producer, Rollo.

"Their collaborations eventually culminated in a new studio project – Faithless – who have sold a massive 15 million albums and played for millions worldwide."

Faithless rose to fame during the 1990s and enjoyed success with hits such as Insomnia and God is a DJ.

Sister Bliss has written music for films including Sex and the City 2, The Beach, A Life Less Ordinary and US TV series Smallville.

About 7,000 people attended last year's Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival with organisers predicting more ticket sales this year.

Mr Edwards said: "The 2013 festival is undoubtedly our biggest yet, with an unprecedented amount of ticket sales before we even announced any acts.

"People are starting to return year on year.

"We will be announcing acts weekly from now on with plenty of competitions, keep checking the website."
