The stage is nearly set for this year’s V Festival at Weston Park. 90,000 people are expected to attend the event over the weekend

Stages, campsites, arenas, VIP areas, a fairground and attractions have all been set up within the gardens of the stately home on the Shropshire border as part of a festival village which has sprung up over the past 11 days.

Headline acts for this year's festival include Beyonce, Kings of Leon, Emeli Sandé and The Script.

Festival organiser Dawn Woodhouse said it was going well.

She said: "The last 48 hours are the start of the finishing touches. The bulk of the building work is completed and over the last 24 hours before gates open we will be doing final checks and making sure the arenas look nice for our visitors."

More than 300 contractors and builders have been involved in the set up of the annual weekend-long festival.

Ms Woodhouse said: "It is a very expensive party for us to set up but we know people think it is worth it. This year's performance by Beyonce is a European festival exclusive and she is going to blow the park apart. You just know her performance is going to be amazing."

More than 100 live acts are due to appear over the weekend.

There will be performances from the likes of Stereophonics, Jessie J Paloma Faith, Olly Murs and Ellie Goulding.

Festival goers can expect a mix of Great British weather with both rain and sunshine predicted across both days, with temperatures predicted to hit 21C (70F).
