Elkie Brooks to play Birmingham

British Queen Of Blues Elkie Brooks will play for fans in Birmingham next year.

The Lancashire-born blues and rock star, now aged 72, is best known for songs such as Pearl's A Singer, Fool If You Think It's Over and Lilac Wine.

While with the band Vinegar Joe (which also starred rock icon Robert Palmer) Elkie also recorded favourites such as Rusty Red Armour and Proud To Be A Honky Woman.

Elkie will play Birmingham's Town Hall as part of her Greatest Hits tour.

She will perform at the city centre venue on Saturday, April 14.

Tickets to the show, priced between £30.50 and £38, are now on sale.
