He first came to prominence at the vanguard of the new youthful expression of music as the lead singer in Amen Corner. The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’, ‘( If Paradise is ) Half As Nice’ were international hits.

Since then, he’s gone on to work with a veritable A-Z of stars. Those include big names such as Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, David Crosby, Elton John, Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, The Who, BB King, Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Jimmy Page, Ronnie Lane, Linda Ronstadt, Roddy Frame, Joe Satriani, the Bee Gees, Ringo Starr, Mary J. Blige, Phil Collins, Van Morrison, Gerry Rafferty, Chris Rea, Jackson Browne, Bill Wyman, Sheryl Crow. . . and hundreds more.

The singer/songwriter will headline Bilston’s Robin 2 on Thursday with his band The Low Riders. Fans can look forward to a superlative musical evening.
