But Myles Kennedy is now gearing up for a solo tour, with a date in Birmingham.

The 48-year-old Boston star is embarking on a solo career, with the release of his debut record Year Of The Tiger this spring.

This album is set to see Myles open up in a very personal manner, with some songs on the record being 'almost like open letters to my father, expressing an ache that’s never subsided', Myles says on his website.

“This record is my attempt to convey things that I’ve needed to express for a long time. What I found hiding in the deep, dark corners of my psyche was difficult to face, but in the end, what came out of the creative process was very cathartic," says his statement online.

Myles will play an intimate show for fans at the O2 Academy 2 on Saturday, March 17.
