The competition which saw mother and daughter singing duo Intrigue walk away with the trophy and £500 is coming back after being among the best attended events to put on to mark Telford's 50th anniversary.

Now the organisers Dennis-Miller Productions are due to hold top-level talks with bosses at The Place, Oakengates, and with the borough council about what should happen next.

Among the ideas for the new year include a bigger production effort and a celebrity judge.

Shaquille Miller, of the production team, said: "Since last year show we have received positive comments from the public. Originally it was only to celebrate Telford's birthday, but due to the success, we have been asked by the council and the public to return for another year.

"We are excited to be making a return for 2019. I am looking to launch applications early January 2019.

"After Telford's Got Talent contestant Billie Stockley who came third in the competition was asked to perform at Telford Community Awards at the international centre along side winners mother and daughter duo Intrigue, to celebrate Telford's 50th birthday. Dance group Full Out was also asked to open Telford's European Market."

Intrigue's Sue Phelan and Michelle Talbot were on “cloud nine” after impressing celebrity judge and former Gogglebox star Sandra Martin with their rendition of the Leona Lewis hit Run and Leonard Cohen's classic Hallelujah.

Acts took part in a series of behind closed door auditions then in front of the public at the semi-final stage. The final was attended by a 600-strong audience at The Place.

TGT, Spring into St George’s Day at Telford Town Park and Balloon Fiesta will be repeated in the new year by popular demand following Telford's anniversary celebrations.
