The song, called Drag The Lake, is part of a long-term project by the band, who are busy writing a series of murder ballads from three different perspectives.

Like their debut album Feckless last year, it is all self-funded. The former The Ticket Unsigned band record when cash becomes available, so are unwilling to put a time-frame on the next album's release to avoid disappointing fans.

Drag The Lake has a heavier feel to it than previous material. There is brasher bass, and the disjointed guitars and vocals give it an eerier feel than the acoustic approach to Feckless.

It promises a deeper, darker future for PUKK as they push on with their sophomore release.

They've been garnering airtime from various radio outlets and busy pushing the new release out to the music media.

A post on their Twitter page recently said: "The reason I'm awake at 2am hitting inboxes with our forthcoming single release? That will be the nose bleed that woke me up. Drag The Lake is out April 5 on all digital platforms."

They've also released a glossy "no expenses spared" video to promote the track, which is available to watch on the YouTube channel for their self-set up label Tidy Karma Recordings right now.
