Dan has risen to success since he began his music career playing with his sister in venues around the town.

He then shot up to become a professional musician and has launched his new record Stay Awake With Me.

Dan performed in the Shrewsbury fan zone on Saturday before the club's League One clash with Blackpool before then hot footing it over to the town's HMV Branch to perform and sign copies of his album.

Today the club tweeted:

His day-to-day manager Kelly Bensadon said it was a proud moment for the musician.

She said: "He has grown and grown to become a professional musician and has been at it for about three years.

"I know he is proud to come back and play in Shrewsbury and it was an exciting day for him.

Dan's grandfather Derek played 14 times for the Shrews during the 1950s, scoring three goals, and the musician was keen to build a relationship with his local football club.

He added: "I wanted to do something together because I went to the Wembley match and seeing all the fans there was great, so I just thought I’d come and play some songs

“I played around the town for years and I love Shrewsbury as a town, even though I have to live in London now, but Shrewsbury is still home, so it’s nice to be involved with this.”
