Shrewsbury Abbey was the venue for Shropshire's WI Day on Saturday, with a host of the county's groups exhibiting as part of the event.

As well as showcasing the talents and activities on offer, the event included a competition judged by the county's High Sheriff, Mandy Thorn.

Gilli Booton, a trustee of the board of Shropshire WI and a member of the Bicton and Oxon group, said they had been thrilled with the turnout and support for the day.

She said: "It has been so overwhelming and positive. We are just so pleased. There has been so many people here, it is very satisfying. I have not seen so many WI members in one space for a long time."
