The 76-year-old is gearing up for his Just Fabulous Rock ‘n’ Roll Tour to promote his 102nd album which was released at the end of last year and he will be playing Walcot Hall, in the village of Lydbury North, near Bishop's Castle as one of just 10 dates across the country.

Speaking ahead of the tour, Cliff said he’s particularly looking forward to heading to the Shropshire hall, which is best known as a wedding venue and holiday cottage location in a village of about 300 people, making the gig a first for the location.

He said: “It’s great to be getting back on the road. We are all looking forward to a fabulous few weeks of rock ‘n’ roll and I am especially pleased to be heading to historic Walcot Hall.

“I believe this is the first time there has ever been a rock ‘n’ roll concert in the grounds of this beautiful country estate so it’s going to be a lot of fun.

“The whole tour is going to be really exciting. I am certain I’ll see some familiar faces in the crowd as well as some new fans and I’m looking forward to having a great time.”

The concert will be an outdoor concert, but fully seated, with a wheelchair platform available and is part of a tour which has plumped for historic houses and castles at picturesque locations rather then the usual concert halls.

Cliff will be supported by Britain's Got Talent winners Collabro, and will appear the day after a concert by Michael Ball and Alfie Boe on the same stage, on June 20.

The Georgian country house, once owned by Clive of India and today the home of the Parish family, previously played host to a younger generation's musical hearts throbs when One Direction filmed there, but has never had a rock concert staged there.

Cliff's album, Just... Fabulous Rock n Roll, includes new versions of rock n roll classics such as Roll Over Beethoven, Great Balls of Fire, Sweet Little Sixteen and his own debut single, Move It, as well as a duet with fellow idol Elvis Presley on Blue Suede Shoes.
