Matthew sees his new home for the first time

Builders from the BBC show visited his home in Trench, Telford in March this year.

And their efforts, and the final transformation will be shown on June 22 on BBC One.

Elleven-year-old Matthew had been cared for at Birmingham Children's Hospital since August 2015, after he was diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer.

After more than a year in hospital, he finished his chemotherapy and since the end of last year had been living in a rented house until the family home was made suitable for his needs

Hundreds of tradespeople from Telford and beyond stepped up to help the team, led by presenter Nick Knowles to transform the home, after he was put forward by the headteacher of his former school, Wrockwardine Wood Juniors, Julie Henry.

Matthew's story had attracted much support from the community, with people donating more than £50,000 to the family, which will now go towards paying for his ongoing treatment.
