Station model leaves Telford train fans chuffed - with video and pictures
A model of Wellington Railway Station was among the star attractions at an exhibition.
Telford Railway Modellers Group attracted around 400 people to its annual event, held at the Charlton School in the town.
There were layouts, stalls and demonstrations from modellers, some who came from all across the country.
The model of Wellington's station had been brought down from Wellington and was a particular favourite among guests, according to club chairman John Waite.
He said: "It is a well-known model and is quite true to life, people can identify with it just from time spent waiting on the station, it is very evocative.
"We had one exhibition come from Hereford, so we had a good cross section of exhibitors, plus some local people and one or two club members.
"For us it was a very good turn out."
The event not only raises money for club funds, but has this year raised a further £150 for the Severn Hospice Charity.
Mr Waite said the charity was chosen by members as one of the group who helped build the Wellington model recently died of cancer. He and his family had been well supported by Severn Hospice, and so club members decided to do something in his honour.
It is the fifth time the club has held its exhibition, which was previously held at the Blessed Robert Jones.
Mr Waite said: "The reason being we are a Wellington-based club and we like to support the local schools and vice-versa.
"We've held the exhibition for five years, we had a short break for two years while BRJ was being demolished but we were glad to be back, it was a very nice venue.
"The club was originally founded in 1995, but has been in its current location on Severn Drive in Wellington since 2006."
