The town will play host to the event, which will include 40 stalls.

The midsummer fair is inspired by the ancient June fairs which were being held in the town as far back as the 13th century, as well as the town’s annual jubilee celebrations of the 1770s.

This year there will be performances from bands and musical theatre groups, Morris dancers and other shows.

There will also be circus activities, face painting, crafts and a prayer tent.

The event has been organised by Wellington H2A, and is funded with support from Wellington Market Company and Wellington Town Council.

The fair will take place on June 8 from 10am until 3pm. It will be based around Wellington’s Market Square, All Saints Church and Market Hall.
