The actor, also known for Ripper Street and Me Before You, will be at the town's International Centre on December 7 and 8.

He is the latest name to be announced as part of the show, which will be held in England for the first time this year

Other famous faces set to visit the town include Doctor Who actors David Tennant and Matt Smith, as well as their co-stars Catherine Tate, David Bradley and Alex Kingston.

Michael Rooker, from The Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy, and Joe Pantoliano from The Matrix and The Sopranos will also be making an appearance, along with a host of other celebrities and actors.

Wales Comic Con is coming to Telford for the first time this year after leaving its regular venue at Wrexham Glyndwr University. However, the venue used to host a popular Midlands sci-fi and fantasy convention.

The change was made after complaints about the hugely popular event being housed in too small a venue, particularly when some fans queuing up to have photos taken with their heroes were soaked by heavy rain at the spring event.

An organiser said: “You can still expect everything that you’ve come to love about WCC, but bigger, better and more indoors than ever.”

The event will take place on December 7 and 8. For more information visit walescomiccon.com
