Julian Clary to bring new tour to the Midlands and Shropshire
Self-proclaimed 'Commodore of Camp' Julian Clary will bring his brand new show, Born to Mince, to the Midlands and Shropshire next year.
The famed comedian will appear at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre, Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre, and Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn as part of the tour.
On the announcement of the tour, Julian said: “Are you ready for some filth? I know I am.
"It’s been a while since I sallied forth to pleasure the provinces with my particular brand of saucy innuendo. Let me at them."
The 59-year-old comedian, actor, presenter and novelist began his career under the name Leo Hurll, a fake keyboardist for pop band Thinkman.
He moved into the alternative comedy circuit in the 1980s under the alias Gillian Pieface, and later The Joan Collins Fanclub.
After a number of appearances on Friday Night Live in the mid-late 1980s, Julian co-hosted ITV game show Trick or Treat with Mike Smith, before achieving greater success later that year with his own Channel 4 gameshow, Sticky Moments with Julian Clary.
He has since gone on to appear on the likes of All Rise for Julian Clary, Terry and Julian, Prickly Heat, It's Only TV...But I Like It, and Celebrity Big Brother 10 in which he won.
Julian Clary will appear at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on March 1, Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn on March 26, and Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre on May 31, 2019.
