Desi Central tour returns to Birmingham
Desi Central is set to return to Birmingham this weekend.
Featuring comedians Guz Khan, Tommy Sandhu, Tez Ilyas, Sukh Ojla and Slim, the tour comes to Birmingham's Glee Club on September 23.
Ghulam Khan, also known as Guz Khan and his occasional stage name Guzzy Bear, is a Coventry comedian and actor of Pakistani descent.
The comedian rose to prominence in 2014 when he uploaded his first video to Facebook, followed by his first stage performance opening for Aamer Rahman at Birmingham REP.
The following year Guz made a short film Roadman Ramadan as part of the British Muslim Comedy series.
He has since gone on to perform at BBC Asian Network's Big Comedy Night in Birmingham, appeared as Rocking in Finding Fatimah, and created his own four-part television series Man Like Mobeen for the BBC.
Hailing from the East end of London, Tommy first rose to prominence when he appeared on Blind Date with Cilla Black. He later became the voice of the show, replacing Graham Skidmore.
As an established voiceover artist Tommy has brought his voice to adverts and commercials across radio and TV as well as prestigious events such as The MOBO Awards.
Tez Ilyas achieved eight competition finals including the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award and Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year in his first year as a stand up.
In 2015 Ilyas achieved phenomenal success with his debut stand up hour TEZ Talks. A sell out run at the Soho Theatre and his own Radio 4 series based on the show followed, with a second series quickly being recommissioned.
Tez has also appeared on shows such as The Last Leg, Mock The Week, Live From the BBC, Man Like Mobeen and many more.
Sukh Kaur Ojla is a UK based actress, writer, and comedian.
Sukh has appeared in a number of theatre productions as well as TV appearances such as Victoria and Abdul, Black Mirror and EastEnders.
Slim first performed in 1993 at the Hackney Empire in front of an audience of 1,500 people.
He also has experience internationally touring in Europe ,The Caribbean and the U.S.A.
