Panto favourite Matt Slack honoured with dedicated seat at Birmingham Hippodrome
Birmingham Hippodrome panto favourite Matt Slack has been awarded a dedicated seat plaque at the venue.
The star is currently celebrating his sixth consecutive season at the venue as he performs in seasonal show Peter Pan.
To mark the occasion, cast, crew and theatre staff gathered for a surprise ceremony where Matt was presented with his dedicated seat in row L of the stalls along with a commemorative certificate.
The plaque reads; 'Matt Slack, making Birmingham laugh 6 years and counting - 2018'.
Matt said it is a 'real honour' to be given his own dedicated seat at the Hurst Street venue.
"Thanks to all at Birmingham Hippodrome and Qdos Pantomimes, plus my fiancé Jess," he added.
"And an extra huge thank you goes to the audiences for their continued support.”
Since his first appearance in Snow White in 2013, Matt has shared the stage with the likes of Stephanie Beacham, Beverley Knight, Marti Pellow, Julian Clary, John Barrowman and Jane McDonald.
By the time this year’s production draws to a close, Matt will have clocked up over 430 appearances on the Birmingham Hippodrome stage; making a total of approximately 1,075 hours of performing.
Peter Pan runs at Birmingham Hippodrome until January 27.
