Letter: Come on, England, sing the anthem
Letter: I enjoy listening to the national anthems in the World Cup and how enthusiastically they are sung with pride.

I have noticed, however, that Wayne Rooney never sings our anthem. Could it be that he is anti-monarchy of the country he is representing? Perhaps he is too tense with pent up emotion and would break down completely if he began singing.
Then again I may be being too harsh on the young man and he just does not know the words.
For whatever reason he is hardly in a position to comment on our staunch patriotic supporters who have travelled thousands of miles and spent hundreds of pounds to see him and others perform so pathetically.
