Letter: Here's what children should be taught

Letter: I wonder if simple manners, kindness and showing respect for people could be improved by discussions on how you show this - such as standing up for elderly persons and pregnant women on buses etc, holding doors open for people and saying thank you if someone does the same for you, exploring with the children how it makes you feel when someone is kind to you.

Topics such as these and not dropping litter, which can harm people and animals, should also be gently introduced in nursery and primary schools.

Perhaps this would help to make good thoughtful citizens for the future.
