Blists Hill Victorian Town near Ironbridge has been used as the backdrop for a pop band's bid to top the Christmas charts.

The museum features in the video for The Florin Street Band's Christmas song and number one contender, My Favourite Time of Year.

While writing the lyrics for the song, composer and singer Leigh Haggerwood imagined a Victorian winter wonderland setting with snow-filled streets, lanterns and a magical feel. He said: "Blists Hill is a wonderful place, very authentic and quaint and the result is a beautiful video that really captures the spirit of Christmas."

Canal Street, which was completed 18 months ago and has won numerous awards, was renamed as Florin Street for the video.

To exactly recreate Leigh's vision, a specialist company covered the streets and buildings with artificial snow to provide a perfect winter wonderland.

Paul Gossage, director of marketing and PR at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, said: "Blists Hill Victorian Town presented the production company with an excellent starting point, in the form of a historically accurate Victorian high street complete with shops and a pub.

"When the Museum was first approached by the Florin Street Band and their production team, we instantly shared their vision and wanted to be a part of the project."
