Veteran pop stars Status Quo will be rockin' all over the Quarry when they headline a concert in Shrewsbury's public park on July 15.

The evergreen stars have agreed to headline the first of two summer concerts at the venue, with an as-yet-unnamed pop act being lined up to follow on July 16.

The gig is the latest in a series of annual events, which have brought stars like Travis, Katie Melua, Jools Holland and famous names from the eighties to the open air venue.

Today Keith Louch, director of IML, said: "We have presented concerts in Shrewsbury for the past five summers and are absolutely delighted to be bringing Status Quo to The Quarry.

"They are, without any doubt, a world-class act and I am sure the crowds who have so loyally supported our shows since 2006 will again be excited by the news of this gig."

The band have enjoyed worldwide sales in excess of 118 million and 22 top ten British hit singles.

Tickets are priced £35 for adults and £15 for children. Tickets are available on (01603) 660444 or by visiting www.imlconcerts.co.uk
