X Factor finalist Wagner pulled out of a concert in Shropshire because of rehearsals for the television programme's live shows.

Wagner has now had to reschedule his visit to Gibsons nightclub in Oswestry, after the event planned for Saturday night had to be cancelled.

He was due to perform a set at the club before a meet and greet with fans, but the event will now be held at the end of April.

A spokesman for the organisers said the postponement was because of the rehearsals for the nationwide X Factor tour. Due to The X Factor Tour rehearsals the night has been postponed until April 23 which is the first Saturday after the X Factor arena tour has finished," he said.

"Wagner's agent contacted us and explained that all The X Factor artists were in extra rehearsals prior to the tour starting on February 19 so he was not able to make any of the shows this weekend.

"I also believe they had the same problem in Wrexham with Cher Lloyd."

Anyone who has bought tickets will be able to use them on April 23.

Wagner, who is Brazilian and now lives in the West Midlands, was a shock contestant in the main part of the last series of The X Factor.

His versions of songs such as Bat out of Hell, Hey Jude and The Circle of Life were panned by the judges yet telephone votes kept him in the show for weeks.

Wagner was given a wild card after first being dismissed as a contender by his X Factor mentor Louis Walsh.
