Letter: Er... just how dangerous are illuminated taxi signs?

Letter: I see Shropshire Council wants taxi firms to remove their illuminated signs "to protect public safety in accordance with national best practice guidelines".

How are the public put at risk by taxi signs? What next? Police cars and ambulances banned from having blue flashing lights?

And this all comes at the same time as they stick a red nose on the Shirehall.

Maybe the Lib-Dems could call an extraordinary meeting to discuss it for a couple of minutes.

Obviously they wouldn't need taxis with their expenses and free parking spots.

Meanwhile, could the Shropshire Star use the Freedom of Information Act to find out how many people have died from flying taxi signs compared to those who have had heart attacks from council stupidity!
