Letter: His Bobness - genius is as genius does

Letter: In response to Mr Sidney Evans: "Genius is too big a label for Bob Dylan", May 30. After reading this disgraceful letter I am left shocked and appalled, I would like to make it clear that Dylan was and still is a genius.

He is not just a singer-songwriter, but a poet and painter. I find it hard to believe that Mr Evans must think to receive Golden Globes, Grammy and Academy awards you have to do nothing.

I find it very ignorant and brainless to criticise Dylan.

Mr Evans, I must inform you that "The times they are a-changin'" and there will be new geniuses after Shakespeare, Vermeer and the many others you have named and claimed to be a "genius" and Bob Dylan is one of them.

You do not have to be the most intelligent human being to gain this title. Einstein was dyslexic. You have to have ambition, talent and desire to make a change, which I can safely say Dylan has and definitely done.
