Letter: Shirehall staff rude
On a recent visit to town with my wife, who has a blue badge DLA due to her health, I parked the car at the rear of Wilkinsons, well within the permitted time and with the blue badge clearly displayed.

We arrived back 30 minutes late due to my wife feeling unwell and we had received a parking ticket. I then wrote to the Shirehall to appeal explaining the reason we were late back but this was rejected, saying more proof was required.
So I sent an MED 4 form from the doctor and two other lots of proof, but this again was rejected.
I rang up three more times and explained that our doctor said this was all the proof they needed. They told me they wanted a report from our doctor at a cost of £15 on top of the parking fine.
As we are pensioners this was quite a lot of money. In my opinion it was rejected by them to justify their jobs as it was at the time Shirehall staff were on strike.
I found staff at the Shirehall very rude. This was the first time in 49 years I've ever had a fine.
