Letter: Bishop's Castle biomass bid had the chance
I write in reply to the letter from the directors of Bishop's Castle Biomass Power Ltd.

There is no point in responding to their claims of jobs, heat main, stable electricity and other alleged benefits as these, I believe, have been proven in my mind and the minds of most of Bishop's Castle not to exist.
The point is that the developers have been given every opportunity to build their plant against the will of more than 95 per cent of local people.
However, they have not been able to agree terms with Shropshire Council and, more importantly, where is the money to pay for the land?
After all, you can have a good proposal but you have to be able to put your money where your mouth is.
If any other town wants it, as long as it isn't in our valley, then quite frankly they are welcome to it.
That is certainly not Nimby – that is factual. Do not build them in a valley unless you have a very high chimney (their experts said that).
We certainly won't be missing out on any opportunities from this proposal and we can now move on . . . finally.
