Letter: Shrewsbury has no need for another shopping mall

Will someone in authority please explain to me the need for yet another shopping mall in Shrewsbury when the two we already have have never been filled?

Walking through the Pride Hill and Darwin centres this week I was amazed to see just how many shops are empty. The addition of about 50 extra shops, cafes etc will have an adverse effect on our town centre.

We are a market town for goodness sake not a city and have no need for extra shops.

Can no one see the fault in this proposed scheme? Never mind the disruption it will cause for many months if not years on our already hard-pressed traffic flow.
