Letter: Choosing Jo Brand to hand in petition is apt

The choice of Jo Brand to present the salt petition to the Prime Minister's office is apt (Shropshire Star, April 16).

It should enable the PM to recognise what most of Ludlow already knows: That the move, which will inevitably end in the loss of our much-needed new hospital, is nothing but a sick joke.

I hope the PM's office looks closely at the addresses of those who have signed to see just how many of them are from Ludlow and the surrounding area.

My suspicion is that many were gained from tourists and visitors to the town who neither knew nor cared what they were signing.
