I find it almost unbelievable that Shropshire Council is planning to demolish 48 properties at Swan Lane, Oswestry, because the area is 'plagued by drug-related problems' in the Star on May 7.

Just because some criminals lived there is no reason to pull a whole estate down!

Why not upgrade the properties and let or sell them to people desperate to find a home?

I thought the council was cash-strapped, but apparently not, when they embark on Prescott-type 'regeneration schemes' that involve bulldozers.

I am sure that someone would appreciate a property at Swan Lane if the price was right.
