Flautist Sir James Galway to play concert in Shropshire

Legendary flautist Sir James Galway is coming to Shropshire to give a one-off concert marking the 30th anniversary of the Shropshire Music Trust.

He will play alongside the Orchestra of St John's on September 7, in the Alington Hall at Shrewsbury School.

Organisers said they were thrilled to be welcoming the internationally acclaimed artist, who shot to fame for his hit version of Annie's Song and has played with Pink Floyd and The Chieftains.

The programme for the evening will include Handel, Mozart and Sir James's own compositions.
