Fans snapped up 900 tickets to see the boyband appear at the Buttermarket, Shrewsbury.

The group are to play a DJ set on April 6.

Tickets went on sale online this morning shortly before 8am.

Club owner Martin Monahan said a further sale of JLS tickets will take place at The Buttermarket on Saturday morning.

He added that attempts will be made to stop touts selling tickets to the show on eBay, after the website was flooded with James Arthur tickets when he played at the venue.

Mr Monahan said one person had paid more than £500 for four James Arthur tickets ahead of his first appearance at the venue.

"Quite a few profited from the James Arthur thing and we don't want that," he said.

He said that for every ticket that goes on sale on eBay, another official one will be released by the venue – with all additional proceeds going to the JLS Foundation, which has been formed to help children and teenagers affected by cancer.

It comes as all 800 early-bird tickets for Osfest, where JLS are also playing this year, sold out within 48 hours. The event is taking place between May 24 and 27, with JLS headlining the Saturday night.

Director Carly Jackson said: "Sales have gone much better than last year."
