The popular eaterie, which offers views over the River Teme at Millennium Green, features in the Sunday Times Food List: Cheap Eats guide to published this weekend. The guide highlights 130 restaurants across Britain where people can "enjoy great food for less than £50 per head".

It follows on from last week's prestigious Sunday Times Food List and is also compiled in association with Harden's.The list says the Green Cafe, described as a modern bistro, offers food at £33 per head.

A spokesman for the restaurant said staff were "delighted" to be featured.

Karen Robinson, editor of the Sunday Times Food List, said: "We searched the country for places serving great food, to prove that local and affordable can also be exciting and special.

"We have discovered some excellent restaurants – and a few vans, stalls and sheds – serving satisfyingly good food prepared with skill and passion – and providing great value for money."

Also featured on the list were Indian restaurants Anoki (Derby) and Asha's Indian Bar and Restaurant (Birmingham), Spanish eaterie Iberico World Tapas (Nottingham) and Oscar's French Bistro (Leamington Spa). The restaurants' success follows the inclusion of eight Midlands eateries in The Sunday Times Food List's top 100 restaurants.
