Letter: Pontesford Hill plans all wrong
The recent proposals put forward at Pontesford Hill for an outdoor amphitheatre, Iron Age fort and a natural burial ground are ridiculous.
To imply that there is a major issue of anti-social behaviour on the hill to gain some sort of support for development is nonsense.
How would development stop this major mythical anti social behaviour? This could only be achieved by blocking all access to Pontesford Hill to the general public before after development.
The idea to make some form of development of the hill acceptable by saying an outdoor amphitheatre, Iron Age fort will be used on occasions by local schools, as with the anti social argument just adds to the argument by the proposer for development.
Either way further down the line more development would be needed to cater for the general public, from toilets, larger car parking area and café
They will need to attract more than the local schools as this clearly is a fanciful 'winging it' business idea and they are in it to make money.
The general public have had free access to this hill for decades, unfortunately it seems to be coming to an end, if development goes ahead.
