Firefighters rescue child locked in Telford house

A two-year-old locked in a house in Telford was rescued by firefighters today.

The youngster, who has not been named, got trapped at about 9am this morning in the property in Crown Street, Dawley.

A fire crew from Telford Central went to the scene where they smashed a glass panel to gain entry to retrieve the child.

The child was reunited with its parents within 15 minutes, said a spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The spokesperson added that he did not know the identity or the sex of the child involved in the incident.
