Letter: It's Mothering Sunday, not Mother's Day
It will soon be Mothering Sunday and some people will no doubt call the day "Mother's Day".

Mother's Day is the American name for a day to celebrate mothers and actually is in June.
March 15 this year is a Church of England festival and is called Mothering Sunday by the Church – so calling it Mother's Day is a bit like renaming Christmas "Winterfest".
It also amounts to creeping Americanisation of English.
You would not call pavements "sidewalks" would you?
So let's all use the correct name and wish our mothers a happy Mothering Sunday.
