Letter: Fair deal for nurses

The Royal College of Nursing has warned that a crisis in the NHS is imminent as 50,000 skilled overseas-born (non-EU) nurses recruited at a cost of £180 million are set to be deported, because they earn less than £35,000 per year.

This coupled with the fact that around 35 per cent of newly qualified British nurses and doctors emigrate to Australia, USA, and New Zealand, so as to get better pay, and avoid tuition fee repayments, means that the NHS is in deeper trouble than before.

The Government's barmy politics are to blame for the mess.
