University Centre Shrewsbury will be hosting the open day at its Guildhall base in Frankwell as it looks to attract students for the future.

Professor Anna Sutton, UCS provost, said they were looking forward to being able to show off what the university, and the town, have to offer.

She said: "The day provides a chance to showcase Shrewsbury, and the supportive and stimulating environment students can enjoy here. This is an opportunity to view what University Centre Shrewsbury has to offer them and discover how we can help them achieve their full potential.

"They can find out for themselves what it would really be like to live and study here – it's an ideal way of seeing whether Shrewsbury is right for them."

The event takes place from 10.30am to 3pm on Saturday. UCS has been established by the University of Chester and Shropshire Council with all courses are accredited by the University of Chester.

Courses offered include history, English, applied psychology, business management, biochemistry and sport management.
