Work begins on multi-million pound Donnington warehouse
Work has begun on a new multi-million pound logistics warehouse which will secure the long-term future of MoD Donnington.
Ludlow MP and Defence Procurement Minister Philip Dunne cut the first turf on the £83 million development beside the MoD base in Telford this morning.
The build is expected to last a year, will see 3,500 people involved, and will ultimately create a new, central, state-of-the-art facility for non-weapon equipment being provided to soldiers on the front line.

"The Government is making a significant investment of £83 million in this state-of-the-art, modern logistics centre benefiting both our Armed Forces and the local economy," said Mr Dunne.
"This forms part of our 10-year, £10 billion equipment plan, as well as our commitment to meeting NATO's defence investment pledge."
The decision to build the new hub in Telford was made earlier this year, and followed a long campaign to bring the contract to the town.
It will be operated by American giant Leidos, whose European managing director Barbara Doornink added: "Working together, and in partnership with the MoD, the companies that make up Team Leidos will deliver a better service for our Armed Forces and better value for the UK Taxpayer."
