The club has been issued with a county court judgment following legal proceedings by Ninety9 Teamsport for an unpaid debt of £23,355.71 relating to this season's kit.

The company, based in Newport, South Wales, is the UK licence holder for American sportswear giant Under Armour, which supplies the kit for the Welsh national rugby team.

The judgment has been issued by the County Court Business Centre in Northampton.

The club now has until April 3 to pay a total of £25,050, otherwise the company will be able to take enforcement proceedings against the club.

A club official today said the club did not dispute the debt, and had previously hoped to reach an agreement to pay it off in instalments.

"This has obviously not been possible, and the debt will be paid by April 1," he said.

A statement on the club's website said: "Yesterday afternoon the club received confirmation that a County Court Judgement had been awarded against the football club for the sum of monies previously reported that is owed to Ninetynine team wear."

"The football club would like to place on record that it has never disputed this debt and had hoped to arrange a payment profile as in line with most large suppliers.

"Clearly this has not been possible and the money is now due to be paid in full. The football club accepts and respects this decision and will honour the judgement by the court.

"The club had requested a payment profile and it is this that the court has ruled against.

"The club will be making no further comment."
