Letter: Vote for Corbyn gives power to the Tories
In my opinion, if the Tories want any assurance that they will form the backbone of government for at least the next 20 years then they got it with the latest election putting Jeremy Corbyn back in charge of the Labour Party.
I had one staunch lifelong member and worker bitterly complaining that he, as a pensioner, had to pay membership of £25 while extreme left wing newcomers, encouraged by Corbyn, were allowed voting rights for just £3.
Just what planet does Jez think he is on? Life-long Labour voters all over the country went against his advice and voted to get out of the European Union and when interviewed the majority stated that they wanted to see control taken back of our borders. Corbyn will not endorse that request and remains committed to free movement.
He also refuses to accept the official Labour Party line regarding our nuclear deterrent and no doubt will be encouraging his left wing activists to reverse the party's position.
Keep on this path Mr Corbyn and Labour will not even be the official opposition, that mantle will fall to Ukip. At my age I don't think that I will ever see another Labour government.
For 30 years Corbyn has voted against the party who he alleges to support so I shudder to think what he will do now he is in charge.
