Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ran the competition which aimed to depict positive images of ageing.

Shannon Vaughan was named the winner with her entry Pink Ladies - a photo of her nan ready for a fancy-dress party.

Judges felt it summed up the idea that growing older doesn’t stop you having fun.

The competition attracted nearly 40 entries, with judges praising the high standard of images.

Shannon, from Telford, attended a prize-giving party at Age UK’s offices in Shrewsbury along with nan, Pauline, where she was presented with her award and a certificate.

Kevin Moore, the charity’s director of operations, who helped judge the competition said: “Shannon’s image was really natural and captured the fun that her nan was having at the party."

A number of the images will be used in Age UK publications to promote the work of the charity in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.
