The incidents saw flames engulf homes near Market Drayton and in Llanymynech.

The first in Beech Avenue, Woore, saw 100 per cent of the kitchen damaged by smoke and heat on Saturday evening.

Three fire engines used six breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the flames at around 7pm.

One man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue received assistance from the North West Fire Brigade, and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue.

Also at the scene of the incident were the British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Meanwhile in Bronwylfa, Llanymynech on the Shropshire border, two crews from Oswestry extinguished a blaze in the kitchen of a house.

The ground floor of the property was damaged and firefighters used a fan to clear the smoke out of the building.

It happened yesterday at around 2.45pm.
