Jockey's £30,000 to help save lives
Racing legend Sir AP McCoy has helped raise more than £30,000 for the region's lifesavers.
The champion jockey made a special appearance in the region for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
Cash raised will now fund 12 potentially life-saving air ambulance missions in the future.
Sir AP said: "It was a really enjoyable evening, and a pleasure to support such a worthwhile cause.”
Fundraiser
The sportsman welcomed guests into Sutton Coldfield's The Belfry Hotel & Resort for the special fundraiser.
Sports broadcaster and Talk Sport presenter Rupert Bell welcomed guests before tucking into a three course meal.
Sir AP then took to the stage for an intimate Q&A hosted by Sky Sports presenter Emma Spencer on November 23.

Abbie Hawkins, events coordinator for the charity, said: "Midlands Air Ambulance Charity attends equestrian related incidents on average every four days.
"For that reason, we have a close affiliation with the racing community, and are lucky to receive fantastic support from those in the industry and racing fans.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported the event, and helped to raise such a fantastic amount of money, particularly the sponsors Hayward Wright.”
The air ambulance responds to an average of 2,000 missions each year, with each costing £2,500.
