Oswestry man, 34, killed in M6 crash
A man who died following a road traffic collision on the M6 in Cumbria earlier this week has been identified as 34-year-old Ben Oakley, from Oswestry.
Emergency services were called on Monday morning to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the northbound carriageway of the motorway, close to Kendal in the south of the county.
It involved a red Renault Megane and a blue Scania lorry at around 11.10am, close to Junction 37.
"The driver of the Renault Megane was pronounced dead at the scene," said a Cumbria police spokesman.
In an update released this morning, a spokesman stated: "A man who died following a road traffic collision on the M6 at Kendal on Monday has been identified as Ben Oakley, 34, from Shropshire.
"The driver of the second vehicle - a man in his 40s also from outside Cumbria - was uninjured."
Any witnesses have been asked to contact PC 1714 Docker, of the Cumbria police mobile support group by phoning 101.
Both carriageways of the motorway were closed in the aftermath of Monday's collision as emergency services attended the scene. Diversions were put in place.
