Father-of-one Ashley Davies, aged 30, headbutted and punched his victim in Albert's Shed, Shrewsbury after they accidentally bumped into each other on the dance floor.

CCTV footage was shown to Shrewsbury Crown Court of Davies, who works as a chicken catcher and lives with his grandmother, violently swinging his arms before being dragged out by the bouncers on October 8, 2022.

The court was told that a police detective constable witnessed Davies being thrown out of the Barker Street club shortly before midnight and chased after him.

Davies was arrested near The Buttermarket in Howard Street, and told officers: "If you're going to start something, you'd better be able to finish it. I don't give a f*** mate, send me to prison. I've been there and done that."

The victim suffered a laceration on the right side of his forehead, bruising to his left eye and a broken nose which had to be re-set. He was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment which included stiches and "manipulation" of his broken nose.
