The pair are due to be released at the Old River Bed site, off Hubert Way, as part of a project to naturally control the wetland environment.
The appeal for volunteers has been shared on social media by the Shrewsbury branch of the Shropshire Wildlife Trust.
An area of the wetland site of Special Scientific Interest has been enclosed by a 1.5km fence to stop the animals spreading any further afield.
The idea is for them to manage the site naturally by maintaining water levels and control the growth of vegetation.
The site is owned by Shrewsbury Town Council with the Shropshire Mammal Group involved in the monitoring and collection of footage.
Volunteers are now needed to check on camera traps every 48 hours, initially for six months.
Anyone putting their name forward will need to wear Wellington boots and be able to walk at least 2Km on boggy terrain.
Anyone interested in volunteering to check the camera traps, swap SD cards, bait survey areas and check the perimeter fence should email shropshiremammalgroup@gmail.com with their details and availability.
