Shropshire Council has confirmed that the Welshpool Road surfacing works are complete, but a further phased closure is required on Friday to complete centre line works.

Phase 1 - from  Clayton Way roundabout to Little Oxon Lane junction  - will be closed from 9.30am to 11am

Phase 2 – from Little Oxon Lane junction to A5 roundabout - closed from 11am to 4pm

Little Oxon Lane will be accessible from the A5 closure point.

The council says that depending on vehicle type drivers may be able to use an alternative route.

Access to properties and businesses within the closure will be maintained when safe to do so.

Access to the park and ride will be maintained at all times.

Buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through when safe to do so.

The work has been co-ordinated/aligned with work being carried out for nearby housing/other developments, and work by utilities companies.

The council has asked drivers to please follow the existing signed diversion via A5.
